This past Friday I attended my first Fashion Island Christmas Tree Lighting Event! It was amazing. While there were a lot of people to maneuver through, once you found your spot it was quite a sight. The tree standing 90 feet tall, unlit, was a strain to see the top. The ornaments that covered the tree were large and in charge. There were some family’s at the base of the tree taking photos and some of the ornaments were half the size of the children.
Fashion Island Tree
Fashion Island truly put a lot of hard work into this night, not only with the tree but with the musical entertainment that kept children on their fathers shoulders. While we didn’t have snow, everyone was bundles up and enjoying the Christmas spirit awaiting the lighting moment. As the tree lighting commenced the entire court yard began to glow and the top of the tree came to life!
Now usually I would attend holiday events with a cute sparkly cocktail dress, but not this time. Knowing it was going to be chilly I opted for some black slacks paired with my glitter Toms, a cream longs-sleeved shirt topped off with a wintry scarf for good measure! Hair, while I would recommend doing something down to keep in the most warmth, I ended up with a teased and braided pony tail. Overall I would recommend taking a night to see the amazing tree and check out some of Fashion Island’s amazing holiday window displays…its well worth it!

The fall weather is starting to creep in and cold weather wear is stocking the shelves. I recently found myself at Express and Guess purchasing some cold weather attire where I was surrounded but glitter and sequenced tops and dresses. They were being paired with large sweaters that hid most of the glam but gave it just the right touch. The part that I found most appealing was when you paired a glitter tank with an over-sized sweater you had the opportunity to take off the sweater and have an evening ready outfit. Needless to say I purchased some well-deserved outfits, that added the just right amount of bling to my winter wardrobe.
Now that I had these great outfits I started thinking about the finishing touches…what to do with my make-up? Of course MAC is one step ahead of me with the winter make-up line “Glitter and Ice: Holiday Colour Collection.” This new collection gives just a touch a glitter without being overpowering. I would recommend a more natural overall make-up application with the lite application of a glitter shadow and a touch of color on the lips. My personal favorite is to keep my lips natural with a touch of gloss but when I’m transforming my everyday winter outfit to an evening wear, I recommend breaking out some color that will transform the richness of your face.
Natural with a touch of Glitter
What better way to complete a glittered up outfit then with the perfect feel good shoes. Glitter Toms have been making a slash, giving you comfort while maintaining their charitable aspect. I am a proud owner of a pair of black glitter Toms and I’m finding I can pair them with work outfits on casual days to keep a touch of glam.
Needless to say I would jump on the glitter bandwagon because it’s here and is a great way to bring in the holiday season!

After the amazing OC Style Rack Rave at the Irvine Spectrum, I was left with a bag full of goodies on behalf of the shops in the Spectrum. One of which was from the Irvine Improv. Who doesn’t love a good laugh? So for my boyfriend’s birthday we went on a random Wednesday night and found that every Wednesday night should be filled with a little giggle. The improv was about half full, which made it an intimate bunch that could easily interact with the comedians. I find that a comedian’s life has to be a nice one, seeing as you get to go to work looking like you just got out of bed. Must be nice! My boyfriend and I decided the “bed look” was to low key for his birthday so we took the advice of Nick Verreos and add a touch of plaid to the evening outfits.
The Improv was very accommodating, from helping with the cake to having the comedians poke at my boy for his birthday…our Wednesday night was worth every moment! Out of the few comedians that were featured we walked away with a favorite for the evening, Omid Singh! I hear he is going to be at the Laugh Factory in Long Beach, I wouldn’t miss a chance to check him out again!

As you know I am always running around getting into Mischief and last Friday night was no exception! I was very excited to find myself at Style Week 2011 at the Irvine Spectrum! I had the privilege of mingling with some very well rounded OC bloggers and gained some valuable inside into my upcoming wardrobe…not to mention the talented Nick Verreos from Project Runway gave me some insider information about the ins and out of one of my favorite shows (Project Runway).
OC Style Week 2011
The Irvine Spectrum is one of my favorite places to shop so it was no surprise at the amount they put into this event. From the exclusive candy bar to the individual vendors participating in the event, they pulled out all the stops. The bloggers were treated to an amazing boxed dinner from Nordstrom’s and with how picky I can normally be about my tastes, it was as if a chef had personally prepared each of our meals. The fun didn’t stop there either, the show started, the models were representing the clothing well and Nick (our host) did an amazing job of keeping the crowd laughing and interacting with the show. My personal favorite part was when Nick pulled up a trendy gentleman and had him runway walk with his orange flannel shirt. It was amazing!
The night continued to move forward with a raffle provided by Target for the attendees and a bloggers raffle provided by The Irvine Spectrum, which I was one of the fortunate winners. Don’t worry I will be turning around and spending my gift card at the Spectrum to update my fall wardrobe. And lastly as a proud blogger at the OC Style Event I was left with a parting gift bag off goodies form some of the great retailers in the Irvine Spectrum…but pictures are worth a thousand word, so check it out!

I love San Francisco… and the buzz of the city. But even more then that I love to shop. I just got back from a great long weekend with my boyfriend and I can’t get the Westfield San Francisco City Center out of my mind. With six levels and over 200 stores to choose from, I’m actually surprised I didn’t get lost and miss my flight When you walk in and see the round-a-bout escalators, you have to kink your neck a little to look up but it takes your breath away. The minute you think you have seen everything, like every mall there seems to be an aisle you didn’t even know existed. Trust me you will have a blast and get in your exercise for the day when shopping at the Westfield.
At the main hub for Cable Cars the elaborate Westfield building sits and high end shops draw you in. Of course I had to stop at the staples…Guess, Express, Urban Outfitters and this trip the Vans store pleasantly surprised me. I have been wanting a pair of Toms for a while now but was wishy washy because they are pricy and I hear the soles wear out quickly. This led me into the Vans store where I discovered the cutest pair of grey Vans which weren’t displayed where you would think they would be! Lady’s and Gent’s don’t always dismiss the hanging shoe rack…you may find gold.
While much more was purchases on this exciting San Francisco shopping trip I would be here forever going over every great item. Now that I am back in the OC I am tasked with cleaning out the closet to make space for my new clothing. I will always remember our S.F. shopping day and the intense packing that I went along with a great vacation!
